ABOUT MASH BASH:

Mash Bash!! is designed to be a psuedo sequel to Mash Dash™!! for mobile devices. As it is our second title, we decided to focus our efforts on making a more streamlined, simple game, targeting hyper-casual players. It is a hybridized fighting-rhythm game in which a character is fighting her way to an enemy stronghold to stop a cataclysmic event from occuring. Mash Bash is currently in testing in the Philippines.

Early Concepts

As stated above, Mash Bash was originally designed to be a sequel to Mash Dash, but I wanted to expand the audience that the game appealed to. A lot of thought went into designing characters that the player could get attached to, and enemies that players would find humorous and engaging. Furthermore, I wanted to tickle the player nostalgia bone by including some throwbacks to Street Fighter, one of my inspirations for the game.

Quality Assets

As we developed the visual style of the game, I came to the conclusion that although it would be more involved, we would create a more faithful nod to past fighting games by building the product with frame by frame animated sprites instead of bone animated or 3d models.
